GCs are experiencing a parallel crisis of budget cuts and increasingly complex workloads. According to a recent Axiom survey, 98% of in-house legal leaders say their budget has been cut because of the downturn, with many (56%) who say it’s been cut a great deal.  

Even as budgets shrink, workloads rise; virtually all in-house legal leaders (99%) report an increase in the volume and complexity of legal matters. 

These compounding issues are creating a perfect storm for GCs struggling to maintain a staff capable of doing more with less. Most legal leaders (92%) say they don’t have the in-house staff to do their job effectively. Nor can they just hire them. Why? Because 94% predict an imminent hiring freeze. 

How can GCs best navigate the storm? By partnering with the CFO.
