Legal Counsel - Data Privacy, Sydney

Responsibilities: 

• Providing expert legal advice on privacy and data protection matters.
• Assisting clients in navigating and complying with Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act.
• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial agreements containing information law clauses, privacy policies, consent forms, and compliance documents.
• Providing guidance and support on various compliance reporting/data tracking requirements and revisions to internal codes of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• 5+ years PQE, with inhouse experience preferred.
• Proven experience in privacy law with strong knowledge of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other relevant privacy laws and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Must have full Australian working rights and be eligible to practice in Australia.
