One of our premier global clients is on the hunt for an in-house superstar to join their team in a commercial and regulatory Legal Counsel capacity. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Legal Counsel to support one of the world's most recognisable brands in technology and payments, across their Australia & New Zealand operations.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying potential risks and providing strategic advice on a diverse range of risk and regulatory matters, to various stakeholders across the organisation.
- Addressing issues specifically related to the technology sector including interpreting and advising on relevant regulations, particularly as they pertain to payments, digital assets, open banking and domestic payment schemes.
- Developing initiatives on behalf of the Regulatory Affairs team for various business functions.
- Creation and amendment of policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory changes.
- Managing outside counsel where necessary.
Requirements:
- 6+ years PQE working in a top-tier firm.
- Experience working in an established financial technology organisation highly regarded.
- Deep understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks in the technology sector.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach with excellent analytical and communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Must have full Australian working rights and be eligible to practice law in Australia.
