Compliance Counsel - Swaps

We are currently seeking a Finance Attorney with expertise in swaps compliance including direct market access and alternative trading systems to supoport a large UK bank's US operations. Ideal candidates will have 8+ years practicing law with deep understanding of CFTC and SEF regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with CFTC-specific mandates and regulations, particularly within Swap Execution Facilities (SEFs) and Alternative Trading Systems (ATS).
- Educate business units on 15C3-5 (Direct Market Access) requirements, and develop comprehensive policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate closely with auditors to verify adherence to relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Assist with venues management projects related to swap execution facilities by identifying gaps in policies, procedures, and controls, and devising and implementing compliant protocols and processes.
Qualifications:
- JD with active bar admission.
- Extensive experience in swap-dealer compliance, particularly with venues and alternative trading systems.
- In-depth expertise in CFTC and SEF regulations, with a strong understanding of 15C3-5 (Direct Market Access).
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with legal and compliance teams, and effectively communicate complex regulations to business units.
- Experience with NFA rules and compliance, as well as familiarity with 17a-3 and 17a-4 regulations, although the latter is not required.
Compensation, Benefits & Location:
This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $175,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more.
