Litigation Paralegal

We are currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support a global shipping and transportation company to play a pivotal role in managing a broad range of litigation processes and supporting the legal team to ensure effective resolution of disputes and compliance with legal standards. Ideal candidates will have 6+ years of experience, excellent litigation support skills and be local to the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the company’s litigation portfolio, including reviewing and organizing case files, maintaining case calendars, and tracking filing deadlines.
- Prepare, draft, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, discovery responses, and motions. Compile and organize evidence and exhibits for hearings and trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support litigation cases, including statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and other pertinent material.
- Act as a liaison between the company and external legal counsel, facilitating clear communication and efficient information sharing.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and maintain accurate records of all litigation activities, ensuring easy retrieval of information when required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with substantial experience gained in both law firm settings and a large corporate in-house environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with Paralegal Certification highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and proceedings, particularly in the transportation and shipping industry.
- Proficient in using legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Located within a commutable distance to Pittsburgh, PA
Compensation, Benefits & Location:
This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $100,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more.
