Commercial Contracts Lawyer

Axiom, the leading provider of on-demand legal talent globally, is seeking commercial lawyers with 3 – 8 years of experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements to support large Australian or multinational companies on a contract basis. Individuals with experience working within the technology industry or consumer goods space are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on commercial transactions to support business objectives for large Australian or multinational companies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams, such as finance and procurement, to align legal strategies with business goals.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on industry trends, particularly within the technology and consumer goods sectors, to effectively advise clients.
- Assist in managing risks associated with commercial operations by identifying potential legal issues and proposing solutions to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution, with current admission to practice law in Australia.
- Three to eight years of experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, preferably within large Australian or multinational companies.
- Familiarity with contracts such as service agreements, IP licensing agreements, software as a service agreements, supply and procurement agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Demonstrated experience or specialization in the technology or consumer goods sectors is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong interest in working on full-time or part-time contract roles with leading organizations.
