Litigation Counsel
US - Los Angeles
We are currently seeking an experienced litigation attorney to work with a nationally-ranked hospital system managing litigation matters across all legal areas - employment, regulatory, workers’ compensation, and general civil litigation. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a sophisticated and well-respected organization on matters greatly impacting the underprivileged community.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise outside counsel, including, determining case strategy, managing cost, and working with internal stakeholders to remediate vulnerabilities.
- Independently handle various prelitigation/litigation activities, including but not limited to: drafting demand letters, managing subpoenas, and directing privileged investigations.
- Advise and counsel internal stakeholders to minimize organizational legal risk and ensure compliance with laws.
- Respond to inquiries by regulatory bodies (e.g., OCR, DOL, OSHA) and manage response to government investigations.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of litigation experience including employment litigation working at a law firm, the government, and/or in-house setting.
- Healthcare or government experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to proactively approach all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, settlement negotiations, and trial and appellate strategies.
- Experience with regulatory bodies (e.g., OCR, DOL, OSHA) and government investigation is preferred, but not required.
• Experience either handling or managing employment and general civil litigation required; general and professional liability experience is a plus. - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with proven experience in relationship building and partnering.
- Must be willing and capable of working on-site in Los Angeles.
Compensation, Benefits & Location:
This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $200,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more.
