Oil & Gas Lawyer

Our client, a leading U.S. oil and gas company, is looking for skilled lawyers to join their team to comprehensive legal support on upstream and/or off-shore operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, managing contractual obligations, and mitigating legal risks. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal advice and support on all matters related to upstream oil and gas activities, including exploration, drilling, production, and field development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including joint venture agreements, operating agreements, drilling contracts, supply agreements, and service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international laws and regulations governing the upstream oil and gas sector.
• Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, including compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Handle disputes and litigation related to upstream activities, including managing external counsel and representing the company in negotiations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.

Qualifications: 

• Must be licensed to practice Law in Texas.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with a strong focus on the upstream oil and gas sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge of upstream activities, including exploration, drilling, production, and field development, as well as related legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with global regulatory standards and environmental regulations related to oil and gas operations.
• Proven track record in contract management and dispute resolution and Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Compensation, Benefits & Location: 

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $150,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K and more.  Axiomites also get access to professional development resources and learning and development programs. Axiomites predominately work remotely, with the exception that some clients require on-site presence.
