Responsibilities:
- Acting as a trusted partner and advising on matters affecting various business functions.
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of commercial documents and contracts for the APAC region.
- Considering practical, commercial solutions to mitigate risk and providing sensible legal risk assessments.
- Supporting the Litigation team in the APAC region in negotiating and resolving pre-litigation and tribunal matters, in addition to other disputes within ANZ.
- Collaborating with regional and global counterparts to align legal advice across geographies and participate in international workstreams.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of legal team processes and managing team resources in alignment with commercial objectives.
Requirements:
- 6+ PQE within top-tier law firms and inhouse teams.
- Experience in consumer law or ecommerce highly regarded.
- Must possess sound knowledge of the legal landscape in ANZ with regard to planning and short-term rental accommodation, competition, consumer protection, discrimination, marketing, digital platforms, e-commerce, privacy, tax, dispute resolution, law enforcement and employment.
- Must possess the ability to identify, analyse and practically assess risks, providing commercial and realistic recommendations.
- Must be able to manage projects, investigations and audits, and create workflows, processes and protocols.
- Must be willing to undertake international travel as needed.
- Must have full working rights and be eligible to practice law in Australia.
